Best-of-seven and double elimination, the first year at that length -- teams were drafted a month out, so the day had the time for it. The home team in a matchup -- whoever had been in the winners bracket longer -- chose either its bank of stations or its team color, with the two sides kept on opposite banks. A losers-bracket team winning the championship final forced a tiebreaker, since both sides would then have lost exactly once. Four games finished level and were settled by a short rematch, one of them in that tiebreaker.
